The Queen Elizabeth II bridge at Dartford
If you are visiting our Chelmsford bed and breakfast you may cross the
Dartford river crossing bridge. The Queen Elizabeth II bridge carries the M25 road and links Essex and
Kent and is one of the main routes into Essex by road from the South of
England. In addition to the bridge two tunnels carry traffic in the
opposite direction to the bridge. Built approximately 10 years ago the
bridge is a superb piece of civil engineering and the side shot of the
bridge above does justice to the design. There is a toll of £1 for a car
and hence when leaving our Chelmsford bed and breakfast keep a pound coin
to hand for the toll.
